It's All About Me!

I have been writing this blog since June and it's been so much fun.  Nearly everyone has been positive about it and the comments on my blog and Facebook keep encouraging me and for that I want to thank you all, it's been better than therapy AND cheaper, nearly on a par with popping bubble wrap!

For those that don't know me, and there are many, I thought I would just tell you a few random things about me.

1)    As a child I was chronically shy.
2)    I woke up one morning, at the age of 12, with big boobs, a size 38B to be correct and it ended my athletic career.  Running with big boobs = concussion and black eyes!
3)    I am one of 7 children - 5 girls and 2 boys.
4)    I wanted to be 3 things when I grew up:  a pop star, a dancer on Top of The Pops and a Page 3 girl, after all why waste the Big Boobs.
5)    I didn't achieve any of these things.....bummer..........but I did go for an audition with a band but they wanted a male singer.  They were quite impressed with my rendition of Meatloaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Light though.....bonus!
6)    I like to laugh, A LOT, especially at other people's expense as Holly, Jack and my friends can attest to.
7)    I love my kids more than anyone else in the world.
8)    I am rarely seen wearing flats, mostly because I am short, 5ft 3 and a half, and I live in wedges/heels and I will soon be like Dolly Parton who can't put her feet flat on the ground!!!  (I jest but hey you never know)
9)    My mum was like my Best Friend and I miss her all the time.
10)  I love music and I love to sing.
11)  I used to be in a Gospel Choir with an amazing group of women.
12)  I hate hospitals!
13)  I love to read books, I even steal Holly's if I have nothing to read.  Kids books are brilliant.
14)  Two of my friends I have been friends with since I was 12.
15)  I am still in touch with the girls who were at the antenatal class I went to when I was pregnant with Jack. Despite his difficulties I find kids his age quite intriguing.
16)  My hero when I was growing up was my big sis, Kay.  She was just so cool and trendy.  I used to clean her room for 50p,  It would take me all day cos I would play her music, try on her clothes and make up and read her My Guy magazine!
17)  I am addicted to Glossy Mags like Marie Claire, Glamour and Cosmopolitan.  This is cos I just love to look at the shoes, clothes, handbags etc but no way would I pay that amount for something unless I totally totally loved it.
18)  I don't own anything Designer :(
19)  My brother Stephen, once likened my humour to that of Comedienne Dawn French and she is one funny lady.
20)  Nothing is more important than family and friends.
21)  I don't do regrets.
22)  I am really great at keeping secrets cos I usually forget them 5 minutes after you have told me.  And I mean really forget, even with clues, it's like the conversation never took place, it drives Kathy mad.
23)  My favourite actress is Bette Midler, she is so so funny.
24)  My favourite movie ever is Beaches.
25)  My favourite decade is definitely the 80's although I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during the 60's.
26)  Spiders and wasps terrify me.  I crashed the car because of a wasp!
27)  My style is a mix of hippie and rock chick.
28)  English was my favourite subject at school.
29)  I believe that if things hurt you inside, it's best to let them go but every now and then getting revenge on those that caused the hurt is healthy and really quite funny!

and lastly

30)  I am embarrassed to say that I used to be a Shakin' Stevens fan and even used to have a Shaky scarf!  and more embarrassing, I used to love Brotherhood of Man's Save all your kisses for me. EEEKKK too much information I think!

Cor!  He was pretty cute.

So there you have it, there is so much more but I will leave it for another day as I am off to do some more Christmas shopping.  Have a good day :)

  2. Haha, great list! Bubble wrap is awesome. I hate spiders and wasps also. I've had the same best friend since Kindergarten, even though I moved around a lot. We kept in touch through email. We are both going on 25 yrs old now. And believe it or not, we've never been in a fight.
