I've been Tagged.......

Firstly, the 'wee warrior' is looking a bit healthier.  He has been up today although still in his pjs and still slept most of the day but the coughing has lessened a wee bit.  I am still managing to function with mine but now Holly is feeling a bit yuck too and of course she is fighting it off cos she wants to go shopping tomorrow with her friend Tammy and also cos the boyfriend is coming over on Thursday night.  Got to be well for him ya know!

Incidentally Tammy is 18 today so a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her from me.

Remember that pilot scheme I was telling you about?  I got one of the 3 places!!! Woo hoo I am so chuffed. If you don't know what I am talking about click here.

On Monday Mynx@Dribble tagged me in her post asking what 5 things I can't leave the house without.

1)  Trendy shoes.  I am renowned for them, mostly wedges, the higher the better and it's a real conversation starter!  Also like Mynx I could never leave the house without a bra on cos I am too well endowed to risk it but I have often left the house without wearing any knickers!!!  True Scots woman me ya know.

2)  A handbag, cos this girlie girl doesn't leave home without it complete with a diary cos if it's not written in the diary or my calender at home, then it doesn't happen!! You've already seen my handbag but if you can't remember what it looks like click here.

This is my diary.  Pretty cute huh

3)  A mobile phone as I always have to be contactable in case the school/respite need to get a hold of me about Jack.  I literally go into a panic if I forget it, which is rare and will drive back to get it.  There has been about 2 times when I have left it at home and the rebel in me has thought......f**k it and I been awol for about 3 hours! It's not too rebellious as the school have another emergency contact number!

This is my phone.  I use the cover on the left

4)  My house keys.  I know this is an obvious one but for my friends who know me, this is one that I often forget!  The hazards of having Yale locks that you don't physically have to lock before you leave!  I have locked myself out a few times now and had to call the locksmith to rescue me.  £20 poorer for 3 minutes of his time you'd think I would learn but no!  After the 3rd time (just this month!), I bought a Key Safe for outside my house and I now have two keys in there, back and front door and I have told my dad the code! I took the added precaution of putting my house keys on the same keyring as my car key, with the pink key ring that random guy gave me, so all bases covered now, I hope!

This is my keys complete with pink n silver keyring that random guy gave me lol

5) and lastly DRUGS!  I keep a bottle of Midazolam, Jack's seizure rescue meds in my bag in case he has a seizure over 10 mins. I have NEVER forgotten this one! I have a bottle of this medicine in the main rooms of the house too so that in an emergency I don't have to leave him!  Here's hoping that I don't get mugged by some random drug dealer now that I've confessed to being a 'drug carrier'.

The medicine is administered via his cheek where it gets absorbed naturally. Much less invasive than his previous rescue meds.

So there you have it and now I get to tag 5 other people to find out what they don't leave the house without.

1) Julie@my crazy life
2) Nari@narislife
3) Sam@A Redhead Named Sam
4) B@Iwasntbloggedyesterday
5) Chief aka dad@unsoundreasoning

I look forward to hearing what they have to say.

Lets go shopping......

Did I tell you that I was given a contribution fee for being on the radio?  I was so chuffed and totally not expecting it.  It was £50 but I am so delighted cos who'd have thought I'd get paid for having an opinion.

So now I have the dilemma of what to spend it on, cos I really think I should spend it on myself, don't you?

How about putting the money towards these...........

I love love these, especially the silver version!

Who knew that Irregular Choice now made handbags?

or something you won't see.....

I do need some new stuff.....

or this tattoo....

I like cheeky faeries

or more jewellery.........

I like this muchly!

I am finding this very difficult to choose cos I am not used to spending £50 pound on myself!  But I have to say that I think the shoes might just win cos I absolutely love love love them and a girl can't have too many pairs of shoes right?  They are way over my budget but what the hell, I still have Christmas money to spend too so watch this space!

Saturday ramblings

It's Saturday night and I am sitting in a swively chair.  No one is bound and gagged, except the dogs maybe cos I need to keep them away from the crisps and dips!

I have a Southern Comfort and Lemonade at my feet.  I just took the first sip and OMG I forgot how it touches the parts other drinks don't!!!! Minutes after I swallowed the lovely nectar, I can physically feel all my muscles relaxing and everything straightening out or am I just pissed from the legs up?  God, I am a cheap date if that's the case! And a complete lightweight too. Oh shit I have turned into my Granny, one drink and she was anybody's!

Jack is in respite.  I have had one phone call to say that he has been sick and that it wasn't seizure or temperature related and they didn't think he had aspirated it but they were just letting me know.

I could see that glass of Southern Comfort disappearing in a puff of smoke but then I decided, f**k it, what the hell, if I am needed I can always get a taxi.  Nothing like an ambulance dash to sober a person up let me tell you.

I had a "child free" 4 hours today.  I had an appointment at the bank to review the mortgage and then after I went for some retail therapy.  I popped into this new clothes shop and 80's music was playing in the background and I found myself singing and boogieing along.  The shop owner, who is lovely, said it was the CD that her hubby had bought her for Christmas of 12inch tracks from the 80's.  Straight away I said "oh is Born to be Alive on it?". The other shop assistant said "I think that was 1979 so it won't be on it".  This set off a whole conversation re this track and we couldn't remember the artist.  So the shop owner, phones her hubby and tell him to look up their music "bible", which he did, what a sweetheart and he said that there were two songs by that name, which one did she mean, so she started singing it down the phone to him, like that helped!

He opted for the second track and it was a guy called Patrick and as soon as I heard that, I got excited (little pleases little minds!) and asked "was his last name Hernandez? and what year was it?". Turns out I was right about his last name but the other shop assistant got the year right. Do you know the song I mean?

Then they noticed my suede handbag and after ooohing and aaahing at it, were threatening to distract me so they could nick it! It is lovely, I have to admit and today was only it's second "outing".  My big sis sent it to me for Christmas and of course it's purple which is my favourite colour!  Handbags and shoes are like a women's version of porn.  Just show them pictures and their eyes light up, pupils get dilated and they get a bit flushed with excitement! Well that's my theory anyway and I am sticking to it!  So guys, now you know what to do............buy her a handbag or shoes and she will be putty in your hands.  Or is that just me? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, me thinks I will have to do a survey.

my new bag......mmmmmmmmmm!  Had to put it on Jack's bed to show it up!

I spent the next hour humming a song by Yazoo called Situation, which was playing as I left that shop.  You just can't beat the music from the 80's or it just me? Look it up on YouTube, it's very catchy.

I need to go and fill up my glass but before I go, I will give you what you have all been waiting for.............mega drum roll please......................the link to the blog of the one and only, talented and oh so fabulous......................................Holly!!!!   I am chuffed to bits that she has named it after the nickname I often use for her which is the "monster from the duvet".  What an influence I have been on this child eh? And didn't she do well? Actually don't answer that cos you have already commented many times to that fact and as for her taking over my blog...................."NO WAY!!!! It's mine, mine, mine!" I say, stamping my feet and chucking my toys around.

I feel so much better now or maybe that was the the soothing sip of Southern Comfort I just partook of.

Go check her out but be sure to come back.  Have a fab weekend :)  Click here
