Goodbye 2011, I didn't like you very much!

Greeting my little gigglers. As 2011 draws to a close, I am still in the hospital with Jack. As I said before, this time last year, Jack had been rushed to hospital after having a 22 minute seizure and spent New Year's Eve in hospital and most of New Year's Day.

Little did I know at that time, that we would end the year by being in the hospital, after a period of 3 months. The start of month 4 is tomorrow.
Christmas day. Jack's getting a cuddle from his new  panda bear
I am struggling now if I am honest. I struggle to sleep, get outta bed in the morning and now I am starting to dread going into the ward every day cos each day presents a different set of problems. It never ends, there is no let up and exhaustion is now my best friend.

We are booked into a hotel again tonight as I just couldn't stand the thought of spending the New Year in a poky little room. We spent Christmas there too, going between the hospital and the hotel and it turned out to be a surprisingly good time. We had a pool side room, a connecting door between the rooms and we were, in  general, a lot less stressed than we would normally have been at Christmas time. No rushing about buying last minute food, presents etc. I think Holly, Jacqui and Diana actually had a really good time. We ended up staying for 4 nights!

o as the year draws to an end, I would just like to say a heartfelt thank you to all those who have supported me, read my blog, sent supportive messages and texts, visited and kept me sane and just in general helped to keep me going.

I wish you all the best for 2012 and I hope that it is a good year for you. Much love and hugs to you all from the North of Scotland.

  1. Truly hoping the best in 2012 for you and the kids. Don't forget to take care of yourself~

  2. Once again you amaze me. Here's to you- super mom- and I mean that. I send heartfelt wishes for 2012 to be everything you ever hoped for! Big hugs to you all!

  3. As all do, we wish you, Jack & Holly a much better 2012. It is amazing you are still standing but you have our utmost love and admiration for being who you are - which is simply amazing. I still don't know how you do it.

Try and enjoy a bit of rest tonight and I hope that tomorrow brings the respite you so truly need and deserve.

Much hugs & love my friend.

  4. Hi LyndyLou - I'm not surprised you are totally and utterly exhausted, with all that you're going through. I'm sure all of your friends here would pray that 2012 will be a much better year for all of you, especially your gorgeous Jack. Surely things can only get better my friend. Love the photo of Holly, and what a lovely pressie! Please take care of yourself and try to rest whenever you get the chance. Sending you hugs.

  5. I had my share of hospitals when Rich was sick but not to the extent you do. I was exhausted then so I don't know how you even have the energy to type. I really pray that you get a break and some much needed rest. How is Jack? Is he comfortable at least? All I can do is send you hugs, let you know I'm here and send all the healing energies I can find. Much love my friend and here's to a better 2012!! Hugs.

  6. I'm so glad you and Holly had a nice Christmas at the hotel. She looks so pretty in the picture. This has been a terribly sad year for you and your family. I hope Jack will recover and be well this year. It must be so hard to keep going, I don't know how you do it. I think of you often and pray for you and your family. Hugs and love, Belle

  7. Great that you and Holly managed to enjoy Christmas despite all the worry and stress of the situation and just hope that everything sorts itself out very quickly in January xxxx

  8. That gorgeous Jack is still giving 'em hell eh? Sooo glad to hear that. Can't imagine how strong he must be to endure all that he has. He looks pretty comfie with his new friend the panda :)

Here's to hoping 2012 is spent with much less hospital time and much more time enjoying life with your lovely kids!

  9. I have felt the frustration as hopes for the comfort of home vanished and knowing that Jack was suffering mainly from doctors that could not see the forest for the trees. I have also felt helpless wanting to "do" something to make it all better but being so far away. Surely many others have felt the same things but more important we have felt the love between friends that will bring us through every time. Get ready because I just know 2012 will be a much better year as we share our lives back and forth across the pond. Love and hugs to your family from ours.
    Odie & Linda

I hope the load you are carrying begins to lighten soon. I hope the doctors get their heads out of their arses!!
